Job Description AM/DM :- hydraulics (Hot Rolling Mill / Hot Strip Mill / Plate Mill)

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of Hot Rolling Mill mechanical equipment by maximizing equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and driving maintenance excellence through preventive maintenance, reliability improvement, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities"

- Lead maintenance of Reheating Furnace, Roughing Mill, Finishing Mill, Down Coilers, High-Pressure Descaling System, and Mill Utilities.
- Ensure equipment availability above 95% (or as per plant standards) by implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Minimize breakdowns and improve equipment reliability through TPM, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, Availability, OEE), and asset performance.
- Lead major breakdown analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.




- Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, maintenance costs, and spare parts planning.
- Ensure strict compliance with PTW, LOTO, statutory requirements, and plant safety standards; conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
- Lead and develop the maintenance team while coordinating with Production, Electrical, and Instrumentation functions to achieve operational objectives.

Mandatory Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Hot Rolling Mill/Hot Strip Mill/Plate Mill mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.
- Experience in TPM, RCA, preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Proficiency in SAP PM or other CMMS.
- Robust understanding of maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, Availability, OEE).
- Experience in maintenance budgeting, spare parts management, and reliability improvement.
