Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (MBA/M.Tech preferred)
Experience: 12–20 Years (Minimum 5 years independently handling project sites)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Site In-Charge to lead the execution of large infrastructure and civil construction projects. The role carries complete responsibility for project planning, execution, quality, safety, commercial performance, client coordination, resource management, and timely project completion within budget. The Site In-Charge will act as the single point of accountability for all site operations while ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Planning
- Lead end-to-end execution of projects in line with approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and project schedules.
- Prepare execution plans, monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure optimum deployment of manpower, machinery, and materials for uninterrupted execution.
Site Operations & Team Management
- Manage and guide Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC, Surveyors, Stores, Safety, Billing, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular review meetings, monitor productivity, and ensure smooth coordination across all site functions.
- Build a high-performing team by mentoring and developing site personnel.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and Head Office.
- Attend progress review meetings, obtain necessary approvals, resolve execution issues,
and maintain strong client relationships.
Commercial & Cost Control
- Monitor project costs, resource utilisation, and profitability against approved budgets.
- Verify subcontractor bills, support timely client billing, and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Material, Equipment & Stores Management
- Plan material requirements in advance and coordinate with Procurement and Stores for timely availability.
- Monitor material reconciliation, inventory, equipment utilisation, fuel consumption, and minimise wastage.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, approved specifications, and safety regulations.
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture through regular inspections, corrective actions, and statutory compliance.
Reporting & MIS
- Ensure timely submission of Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports, billing updates, cost reports, material reconciliation, equipment utilisation, and project MIS.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ERP records.
Required Skills
- Robust leadership and project execution capabilities.
- Excellent knowledge of civil construction methodologies, project planning, billing, BOQ, and contract administration.
- Expertise in cost control, material management, quality assurance, safety management, and client coordination.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Airport, Runway, Highway, Railway, Industrial, Building, Bridge, or Government EPC Projects.
- Proven ability to independently manage large project sites and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with reputed Infrastructure/EPC companies will be preferred.
