Position Overview
The Senior Shipping Executive plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the
company's shipping and import operations. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments from
countries of origin, managing the import process, and ensuring compliance with all relevant customs
regulations.
Job Responsibilities
• Organize the movement of goods via sea, air, road, or rail depending on the nature of the goods and
destination, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs and delays.
• Manage all shipping documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations for international
shipments.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline and optimize shipping operations.
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate shipping records, reports, and performance metrics.
• Evaluate and compare freight quotations to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
• Identify potential risks in shipping processes and implement appropriate contingency plans.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipping-related inquiries and concerns. • Ensure adherence to local and international shipping laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and relevant authorities to facilitate smooth clearance
of goods.
• Manage EPCG (Export Promotion Capital Goods) scheme compliance, including license tracking,
documentation, and fulfillment of export obligations.
• Handle FTA (Free Trade Agreement) documentation to ensure shipments benefit from applicable
preferential duty rates.
• Prepare and process Certificate of Origin (COO) applications for export shipments.
Job Requirements
Education
• Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience
• 510 years of experience in warehouse/logistics operations, ideally in a leadership role; prior
experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
• Solid experience in logistics, supply chain, or shipping operations.
• Hands-on experience with EPCG (Export Promotion Capital Goods) scheme compliance and
documentation.
• Experience handling FTA (Free Trade Agreement) advantages and preferential duty documentation.
• Experience preparing and applying for Certificate of Origin (COO).
Skills
• Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs compliance (training provided).
Language
• Proficiency in English and the local language.
