This role serves as a critical risk filter within the due diligence workflow—focusing on reviewing and resolving low-level findings, ensuring consistent and defensible risk assessments, and escalating higher-risk matters to appropriate stakeholders. The position supports the organization’s goals of faster onboarding, stronger risk identification, audit-ready documentation, and clear escalation governance, while maintaining alignment with global ABAC standards and regional regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1) ABAC Risk Review & Due Diligence Execution Review due diligence findings not fully cleared through automated or external screening (e.g., PwC outputs) Analyze low-level ABAC findings and determine whether they can be resolved or require escalation Apply standardized risk criteria to ensure consistent, objective, and defensible assessments Identify potential red flags (e.g., conflicts of interest, government touchpoints, adverse media) and assess materiality Document findings, rationale, and decisions in a clear, structured, and audit-ready format
2) Business Engagement & Issue Resolution Engage directly with Business Relationship Owners to gather additional context and clarify findings Request and validate supporting documentation to resolve due diligence questions Provide explicit, practical guidance to the business on resolving compliance issues
3) Escalation & Decision Governance Determine when findings exceed delegated authority and require escalation Escalate high-risk or complex cases to: o Global Compliance / ABAC leadership o Global Security (for investigations)
o Legal or TPRC (for highest-risk decisions) Follow defined escalation triggers, decision frameworks, and playbooks
4) Risk Consistency & Program Integrity Ensure consistent application of ABAC risk standards across all cases within the region Contribute to calibration of risk decisions by identifying patterns or inconsistencies Support continuous improvement of: o Risk scoring logic o Precedent catalog o Decision playbooks
5) Documentation & Audit Readiness Maintain comprehensive records of due diligence reviews, findings, and resolutions Ensure all decisions are fully documented, traceable, and defensible for audit purposes Support audit requests and internal reviews as needed
6) Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with: o COE analysts (for intake and lifecycle alignment) o Global Security (investigations) o Legal (contractual implications of risk findings) o PwC (screening outputs and findings clarification) Support smooth handoffs across the due diligence lifecycle
7) Training, Guidance & Change Adoption Reinforce ABAC expectations to business stakeholders through day-to-day interactions Support rollout of TPP redesign through: o Participation in training sessions o Reinforcement of new processes and escalation protocols Provide feedback on gaps or challenges in adoption
Job Requirements :
- 4-10 years of experience in financial services industry or similar field.
- Strong understanding of compliance regulations governing financial institutions.
- Proven track record in conducting thorough risk assessments and developing effective mitigation plans.
