Job Title: Service Now Developer (CMDB & Discovery)

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Service Now Developer with 3–5 years of experience specializing in CMDB and Discovery. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining Service Now CMDB, Discovery, and ITOM solutions. The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, and IT operations teams to ensure accurate configuration data, automate discovery processes, and improve CMDB health.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, configure, and maintain Service Now CMDB and Discovery modules.
- Implement and support Discovery schedules, MID Servers, and credential management.
- Configure and maintain Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) and CMDB data models.
- Develop and customize Discovery Patterns, Probes, Sensors, and Pattern Extensions.
- Monitor Discovery jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance.
- Ensure CMDB data quality through reconciliation, normalization, duplicate management, and data governance.
- Develop workflows, business rules, client scripts, script includes, and UI policies as required.




- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to onboard new Configuration Items (CIs).
- Integrate Service Now with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs where required.
- Create dashboards and reports to monitor CMDB health, Discovery coverage, and compliance.
- Participate in Service Now upgrades, patching, testing, and release management.
- Prepare technical documentation and provide production support.

Required Skills

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Service Now development.
- Strong experience with CMDB implementation and administration.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now Discovery and MID Server configuration.
- Good understanding of ITOM, Configuration Management, and ITIL processes.
- Experience with Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
- Experience in Discovery Patterns, Probes, Sensors, and Pattern Designer.
- Robust scripting knowledge in Java Script within the Service Now platform.
- Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and Flow Designer.
- Experience with REST and SOAP integrations.
- Strong knowledge of CMDB data modeling, CI relationships, and data governance.
- Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Service Now update sets and application deployment.
