Role Overview :We are looking for a seasoned PostgreSQL Developer to join our engineering team in Pune, where you will serve as the backbone of our data infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex database systems that power our core business applications. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and data architects to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions. By optimizing query performance and ensuring high availability, your work will directly influence the responsiveness of our platforms and the reliability of the data insights delivered to our global stakeholders.Key Responsibilities :- Architect and implement robust database schemas and data models to support high-volume transactional systems and ensure long-term data integrity.- Develop and optimize complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions using PL/pgSQL to streamline business logic and reduce application-side processing overhead.- Execute comprehensive performance tuning and query optimization strategies to minimize latency and improve the overall throughput of our production environments.- Partner with cross-functional development teams to troubleshoot database-related bottlenecks and provide technical guidance on efficient database programming practices.- Manage database migrations and schema updates across environments, ensuring seamless deployments and minimal downtime for our end users.- Maintain rigorous documentation of database architecture and design patterns to facilitate knowledge sharing and system scalability across the engineering organization.Required Skillset :- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing complex PostgreSQL databases, with a deep understanding of database architecture and advanced indexing strategies.- Proven ability to write and debug high-performance SQL and PL/pgSQL code, including the ability to refactor legacy T-SQL or other database scripts into optimized PostgreSQL solutions.- Strong analytical skills to diagnose performance issues and implement effective tuning techniques that align with business growth requirements.- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical database concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a hybrid work environment in Pune.- Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work independently to solve intricate data modeling challenges while maintaining high standards of code quality.- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by a track record of delivering secure, high-performance database solutions.
