We are currently establishing a Shared Service Center (SSC) for the German-speaking market , focusing on the delivery of high-quality, transactional and operational support services across multiple business functions. Our goal is to build scalable, efficient, and standardized processes that support areas such as HR, Customer Service, Sales, and other corporate functions with their back-office activities.

As the Site Manager Global Capability Center Chennai (GCC) you will lead the strategic setup, scaling, and operational excellence of the organization's Global Capability Center, serving as a centralized hub delivering shared services, technology, analytics, and process support across the company's global logistics and supply chain operations. This role combines strategic leadership, operational management, stakeholder engagement, and talent development to build a high-performing center that drives efficiency, innovation, and cost optimization for the parent organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

- Support defining and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the GCC in alignment with global business objectives
- Identify and onboard current functions/processes for migration to the GCC (finance, IT, network planning, customer support, procurement, data analytics, engineering, sales back office) and manage recruiting activities individually
- Build the business case for center expansion, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI projections




- Represent the GCC in global leadership forums and act as the bridge between local operations and global headquarters

1. Operations & Service Delivery

- Own end-to-end service delivery across all functions housed in the GCC, ensuring adherence to SLAs/KPIs
- Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma, RPA, AI-led transformation)
- Oversee transition and migration of new processes from global locations to the GCC with minimal disruption
- Ensure robust governance frameworks, risk management, and business continuity planning
- Ensure KPI definition and thorough monitoring for each acitivity

1. Technology & Digital Transformation

- Partner with global IT/Digital teams to embed automation, AI/ML, and analytics capabilities into logistics operations (route optimization, freight visibility, warehouse management systems, TMS/WMS support)
- Champion digital transformation initiatives that enhance supply chain visibility and operational efficiency
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies relevant to logistics (IoT, predictive analytics, control towers)

1. Talent & Organization Building

- Build and lead a multi-disciplinary leadership team across functional towers
- Develop talent acquisition, retention, and career development strategies to position the GCC as an employer of choice
- Foster a high-performance culture, drive employee engagement, and manage change through rapid scaling
- Design organizational structure, span of control, and career pathways aligned to global standards

1. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Serve as primary point of contact for global business unit heads, ensuring alignment on priorities and expectations
- Manage relationships with external vendors, technology partners, and outsourcing providers where applicable
- Negotiate and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and commercial contracts

1. Financial Management

- Own the P&L; / cost center budget for the GCC
- Drive cost optimization and efficiency targets while maintaining service quality
- Report on cost savings, productivity gains, and value delivered to global stakeholders

1. Compliance & Risk

- Ensure adherence to local labor laws, data privacy regulations (GDPR,



local data protection laws), and industry compliance standards
- Implement information security and data governance frameworks in coordination with global InfoSec teams
- Manage regulatory relationships with local authorities (SEZ/STPI approvals where relevant)

Key Requirements

Education

- Minimum: Bachelor's along Postgraduate degree in any discipline.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (mandatory)
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree preferred

Experience

- 18 to 20+ years of progressive experience in Global logistics, supply chain, or shared services/GCC leadership
- Minimum 10+ years in a senior leadership role managing large, multi-functional teams
- Prior experience setting up or scaling a GCC/GBS/shared services center strongly preferred
- Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, e-commerce logistics, or supply chain technology companies preferred
- International experience

- Must have Business proficiency in English – written and spoken
- Good to have : German Language proficiency

Skills & Competencies

- Strong strategic and business acumen with P&L; ownership experience
- Proven track record of large-scale operational transformation and process migration
- Deep understanding of logistics operations (freight, warehousing, last-mile, TMS/WMS, network planning)
- Detailed view on process details and continuous process improvements
- Strong knowledge of automation/RPA, analytics, and digital transformation in supply chain
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across cultures and geographies
- People leadership: talent development, organization design, change management
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication and executive presence for board/C-suite interactions

Working Conditions:

- Schedule: Standard Indian business hours.
- Work Model: On‑site, occasional travel within India and abroad
- Global Collaboration: May require occasional work outside of standard hours.
- Performance Metrics: Success measured through response time, resolution rate, and customer satisfaction scores as well as meeting the budget and business case targets
