Bachelor or master’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering
Responsibilities:
- - Perform structural analysis and design for substation structures including control buildings, equipment foundations, gantries, cable trenches, and steel support structures.
- Design foundations for electrical equipment such as transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, and GIS/AIS equipment.
- Load Calculations: Calculating physical forces from wind, snow, ice, and seismic (earthquake) conditions.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, design drawings, and construction documents.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant American codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC etc.).
- Mechanical Components: Specification of insulators and support specifically to meet physical bracing requirements.
- Hands-on experience with design software such as STAAD, ETABS.
- Domain: Electrical utilities, Substations, Overhead transmission
