The Purchase Executive (Field Staff) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials directly from vendors and markets. The role involves frequent field visits to suppliers, ensuring timely procurement, quality verification, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit local markets, suppliers, and vendors to procure required materials
- Identify and develop current vendors and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Compare quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Inspect materials for quality and quantity before purchase
- Coordinate with the store/warehouse team for delivery and stock updates
- Handle purchase orders, invoices, and documentation
- Track market trends, pricing, and availability of materials
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid delays in operations
- Resolve issues related to supply, quality, or delivery
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma (preferred but not always mandatory)
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or field buying
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of local markets and vendors
- Basic understanding of inventory and supply chain processes
- Ability to travel frequently and work in field conditions
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, billing software, etc.)
- Valid driving license (if required for field travel)
