Shanti Pathology Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Computer Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is the accurate preparation and formatting of diagnostic reports, including pathology and histopathology reports. The ideal candidate should possess excellent typing skills, strong computer proficiency, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive patient information.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and format Pathology, Histopathology, and other laboratory test reports accurately from dictated or handwritten notes.
- Ensure reports are free from spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy while entering medical data.
- Manage and organize digital patient records and laboratory documentation.
- Prepare, edit, and format reports using Microsoft Word.
- Maintain data in Microsoft Excel and generate basic reports as required.
- Create presentations and documentation using Microsoft PowerPoint when needed.
- Coordinate with pathologists, laboratory technicians, and administrative staff to ensure timely report generation.
- Handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion.
- Perform other clerical and administrative tasks assigned by the laboratory management.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Science background (preferred), especially Life Sciences or related fields.
- Excellent typing speed with high accuracy.
- Robust command of written English.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good computer operating skills and familiarity with laboratory software (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling patient records.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn laboratory reporting procedures.
Experience
- Freshers with excellent computer skills and a science background may apply.
- Prior experience in a pathology laboratory, diagnostic centre, hospital, or medical transcription will be an added advantage.
