We are looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Design Engineer with experience in jig and fixture design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical design, automation equipment, production tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes, with proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automation systems, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, welding fixtures, and custom tooling based on customer and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation machines, special-purpose machines (SPM), jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Design welding fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, drilling fixtures, and machining fixtures.
- Develop concepts and mechanical solutions based on production and customer requirements.
- Prepare detailed drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, fits, GD&T;, and material specifications.
- Select suitable mechanical components such as pneumatic cylinders, linear guides, bearings, motors, sensors, and actuators.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, electrical, and assembly teams for successful project execution.
- Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support prototype development, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
- Prepare BOMs, part lists, and technical documentation.
- Make design improvements based on manufacturing feedback and production requirements.
- Ensure designs meet project timelines, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Required Skills
- Solid knowledge of mechanical design and engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience in jig, fixture, tooling, and automation machine design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assembly design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of pneumatic and mechanical systems used in automation.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, and sheet metal.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹1,401,933.32 per month
