Job Title: Horticulture Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Horticulture Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and development of the university's gardens, lawns, landscapes, and green spaces. The ideal candidate will ensure the campus remains aesthetically pleasing, healthy, and environmentally sustainable while managing the horticulture team efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily horticultural and landscaping activities across the campus.

Plan, develop, and maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and other green areas.

Monitor plant health and implement appropriate pest, disease, and weed control measures.

Ensure proper irrigation, pruning, fertilization, and seasonal plantation activities.

Supervise gardeners and other horticulture staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.

Maintain inventory of plants, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and gardening equipment.

Coordinate with vendors for procurement of horticultural materials and services.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.





Prepare maintenance schedules and maintain records of horticultural activities.

Suggest and implement landscaping improvements to enhance the campus workplace.

Qualifications

Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, or a related field.

Certification in landscaping or horticulture will be an added advantage.

Experience

3–6 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or garden maintenance.

Experience in educational institutions, hospitals, residential townships, or corporate campuses is preferred.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care, irrigation systems, and landscaping.

Knowledge of pest and disease management techniques.

Leadership and team management skills.

Good planning and organizational abilities.

Basic computer skills for maintaining records and reports.

Ability to work outdoors and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
