Job Role

The Sr. Engineer – Stores is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, preservation, and issue of raw materials, bought-out components, consumables, packing materials, spares, and finished goods to ensure uninterrupted production. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, warehouse operations, SAP/ERP transactions, stock optimization, material traceability, and coordination with Purchase, Production, Quality, and Finance departments while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities and Scope of Work

- Ensure timely receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of materials as per production requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP/ERP and ensure all material transactions are completed on time.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Purchase department to avoid material shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, preservation, and traceability of all materials.
- Implement and maintain FIFO/FEFO practices for inventory management.
- Conduct daily, monthly, and annual physical stock verification and cycle counting.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Supervise store personnel and allocate daily work activities.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Finance departments for smooth material movement.
- Ensure timely preparation of Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), and stock transfer transactions.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping through 5S implementation and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor non-moving, slow-moving,



obsolete, and surplus inventory and recommend disposal actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and stores MIS reports.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for New Product Development (NPD) and trial production.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to achieve optimum stock without affecting production.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Train and guide store personnel on inventory management procedures and ERP usage.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and quality management systems.

- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate physical and system inventory records.
- Material Availability: Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to production.
- Warehouse Management: Ensure efficient storage, preservation, and material handling.
- ERP/SAP Transactions: Ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions.
- Stock Control: Minimize inventory losses, excess stock, and stock-outs.
- Material Traceability: Maintain proper identification and traceability of materials.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and audit requirements.
- Team Supervision:



Guide and monitor store personnel for efficient operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Inventory Accuracy (%): Physical stock variance against ERP records.
- Material Availability (%): Materials supplied as per production schedule.
- Inventory Turnover Ratio: Productive inventory utilization.
- GRN Processing Time: Timely completion of material receipt transactions.
- Stock Verification Accuracy: Completion of cycle counts and annual stock audits.
- FIFO/FEFO Compliance (%): Adherence to inventory management practices.
- Warehouse 5S Audit Score: Compliance with housekeeping and safety standards.
- Inventory Loss/Wastage (%): Reduction in material loss and damages.
- MIS Reporting: Timely and accurate submission of inventory reports.
- Audit Compliance: Number of audit observations related to stores operations.

Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
