Role Overview

Kuku is looking for a video editor who wants to move beyond traditional editing and become part of an AI-native microdrama production team. The role combines video editing, AI video generation, storytelling, and workflow experimentation to create engaging, binge-worthy drama content.

Key Responsibilities

- Convert scripts into AI-producible scenes by identifying required shots, generated assets, and editing needs.

- Edit AI-generated footage into polished, emotionally engaging episodes.

- Improve pacing, hooks, continuity, reactions, and overall storytelling quality.

- Learn and use AI video, image, character, voice, and lip-sync generation tools.

- Collaborate with the team to develop and optimize AI production workflows, prompting systems, quality checks, and turnaround times.

Ideal Candidate

- Strong editor who wants to influence storytelling and AI content generation, not just post-production.

- Understands drama, emotional beats, tension, pacing, and audience retention.

- Curious about AI tools and eager to experiment and learn quickly.

- Comfortable working with imperfect AI-generated footage and evolving processes.

- Thrives in a fast-paced startup setting.

Required Skills

- Good sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual clarity.

- Ability to work under fast turnaround timelines.

- Basic understanding of AI and prompt-based tools.





- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to improve rough footage.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or CapCut.

- Familiarity with AI tools like Runway, Kling, Minimax, Pika, Veo, Midjourney, Leonardo, or ElevenLabs.

- Experience editing trailers, promos, reels, short fiction, or drama-focused content.

- Understanding of Indian mass-market storytelling genres (romance, thriller, horror, fantasy, etc.).

- Basic knowledge of sound design, music, captions, and visual effects.
