The Costing Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end product costing activities for automotive components and assemblies. This role requires close coordination with customers, purchase, production, engineering, and finance teams to ensure accurate costing, competitive pricing, and effective commercial decision-making.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing product costing activities, including vendor/supplier outsource and bought out costing, new product costing, BOM validation, cost analysis, profitability evaluation, quotation support, and cost reduction initiatives.
The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
The Costing Manager will work closely with engineering, projects, and production teams during new product development, and will support localization, indigenization, and value engineering initiatives.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for estimating investment requirements for tooling, fixtures, gauges, and machinery, and participating in APQP and new product feasibility discussions from a commercial perspective.
The Costing Manager will be responsible for monitoring actual cost vs standard cost and identifying cost variances,
performing product-wise and customer-wise profitability analysis, and supporting annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities.
The role requires a strong understanding of costing and estimation, cost analysis and profitability, and current product development support.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and will be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
The Costing Manager will be responsible for developing RFQ costing and supporting customer quotation submissions within target timelines, validating BOM, routing, cycle time, and manufacturing process assumptions for costing accuracy, and conducting should-cost analysis for bought-out and manufactured parts.
The role requires a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, and relevant post-graduate degree or certification preferred.
The salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
