Role Description
Department
The International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) department makes up part of the Global Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Directorate and has around 50 York-based and offshore staff working in four key areas: international student recruitment; global partnerships, short courses, and study abroad.
The role is situated within the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility department (IRPM), which is tasked with developing effective and measurable strategies that support the achievement of the University's international objectives, increasing the visibility of the York brand to global audiences, and identifying and developing new opportunities for growth.
Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a new International Recruitment Coordinator to join our International Recruitment Team to contribute to the successful delivery of key recruitment and conversion activities. The key purpose of this role is to support recruitment activities, promote and develop brand awareness and maintain positive stakeholder relationships for the University of York in a wide range of global student markets.
One particular focus of the role will be the delivery and planning of provision for in-bound visits to our campus - these will include visits by prospective students, school groups and visiting senior delegations. Initially reporting to the Deputy Head of International Recruitment (Americas, Middle East, Europe, Africa) you will work collaboratively with teams based both in York and remotely around the world to meet recruitment targets and deliver a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders.
Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed
Educated to degree level you will be an excellent communicator able to develop sustainable relationships and influence a range of people of differing backgrounds. This role will suit a candidate who is organised, adaptable and can exercise initiative to work independently on a range of different tasks.
We are looking for an individual who can showcase familiarity with international recruitment practices and an ability to work with both UK and international stakeholders. A proven track record of adaptability, cultural awareness, creative thinking and transparent strengths in communication will be key.
This post involves extensive contact with international stakeholders,
so the ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and unsocial hours is essential. Extensive international business travel of between 8-12 weeks per year will be required in this role.
This is a York, UK-based role. We are seeking candidates who are able to work from our Heslington, York location. There will be an expectation that the role holder could be on campus regularly to support in-bound visits.
Interview date: Week beginning 14th September 2026
For informal enquiries: please contact Kyle Blain at [HIDDEN TEXT].
Condition of employment
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Consequently, all applicants will be asked to declare both unspent and spent convictions on their application form.
Appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves.
We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.
We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum (essential) criteria for each position will be offered an interview. Read more about the University of York's commitments under the Disability Confident scheme.
