Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Laptop Technician Chip Level role based in Tumkur. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing laptops at the chip level, including work on motherboards, power circuits, and other electronic components. The technician will perform component-level soldering and de-soldering, replace faulty ICs and connectors, and ensure thorough testing of devices after repair. Daily responsibilities include handling service tickets, documenting work performed, maintaining tools and equipment, and coordinating with the service team to meet turnaround times and quality standards. The role may also include providing technical guidance to colleagues,



supporting inventory of spare parts, and following safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) procedures.
Qualifications

- Strong chip-level troubleshooting skills for laptops, including diagnosis of motherboard, power, and charging circuit issues.
- Proficiency in soldering, de-soldering, and component replacement (ICs, connectors, SMD components) using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, service manuals, and use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Experience with laptop hardware assembly and disassembly, including screens, keyboards, storage devices, RAM, and cooling systems.
- Knowledge of basic operating system installation, driver configuration, and hardware-related performance troubleshooting.
- Attention to detail with strong documentation skills for recording repairs, parts used, and test results.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with service coordinators, customer support, and technical teams.
- Adherence to safety and ESD handling practices and familiarity with service center workflows and turnaround time expectations.
- Diploma or ITI in Electronics, Computer Hardware, or a related field; relevant certifications in hardware repair are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a laptop or electronics technician, especially in chip-level service, is highly beneficial.
