Job Summary
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all health, safety, and environmental practices at construction sites to ensure a secure working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. The role involves conducting inspections, safety training, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with statutory safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of site safety policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Monitor compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers and staff.
- Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
- Investigate accidents, incidents,
and near-miss cases and submit corrective action reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company safety standards.
- Monitor work at height, excavation, lifting operations, scaffolding, and other high-risk activities.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and first-aid arrangements.
- Ensure fire prevention measures and firefighting equipment are maintained and functional.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports for management review.
