Skill: Facilities Engineer (Oil & Gas Upstream)Exp: 5 to 10 yearsLoc: Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Noida, KolkataNP: Immediate Joiners to 30 daysWork Mode: HybridAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support upstream oil and gas production facilities through performance monitoring, process optimization, facility capacity analysis, and engineering design support. The role involves working closely with operations and engineering teams to evaluate compression, separation, treating, and pipeline systems, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and production throughput.This is a remote engineering support role focused on analytical studies, facility optimization, equipment evaluation, and preparation of engineering documentation for field execution.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Performance & OptimizationMonitor and analyze compression, separation, treating, and pipeline systems.Conduct production system surveillance and identify operational anomalies.Perform facility performance assessments using PI Vision, SCADA, and historical operating data.Identify production constraints and recommend optimization opportunities.Conduct debottlenecking studies and facility capacity evaluations.Analyze compressor runtime, downtime events, process anomalies, and generate recommendations.Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions.Review facility downtime trends and recommend priorities for maximum operational impact.Support allocation gap analysis and production optimization initiatives.Engineering Design & Technical SupportPerform engineering calculations for facility modifications and upgrades.Size and evaluate pumps, compressors, separators,



control valves, and other process equipment.Conduct pipeline hydraulics and pressure drop calculations.Review vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.Support Management of Change (MOC) activities and prepare draft engineering packages.Develop capacity models and simulation studies using ProMax/HYSYS.Prepare first-pass redlines for:P&IDsPlot; PlansCause & Effect DiagramsEngineering DrawingsSupport artificial lift conversion projects (ESP, Rod Pump, Gas Lift, Plunger Lift).Conduct Process Safety What-If assessments and assist with HAZOP-related activities.Documentation & ReportingPrepare facility performance reports and engineering recommendations.Maintain equipment databases and facility capacity models.Document engineering calculations, assumptions, and study findings.Support capital planning through equipment condition assessments.Update SAP asset registries, critical valve lists, and engineering records.Validate field markups and ensure alignment with design intent.Required Technical SkillsProcess EngineeringCompression System AnalysisSeparation & Treating Facility AnalysisPipeline HydraulicsUpstream Process DesignEquipment Sizing & EvaluationProcess Optimization & DebottleneckingRCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)Process Safety ReviewsControl Valve Sizing & SelectionEngineering DocumentationP&ID; Development & RedliningMOC Package PreparationEngineering CalculationsProcess Safety What-If AnalysisTechnical Report WritingSoftware & ToolsPI Vision / SCADAProMaxAspen HYSYSSAPMicrosoft Excel (Advanced)Microsoft TeamsMOC PlatformsAI-enabled analytics tools (Claude AI or equivalent)Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering.Minimum 4 years of experience in Facilities Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.Hands-on experience with compression, separation, and production facility optimization.Experience performing equipment sizing and process engineering calculations.Working knowledge of pipeline hydraulics and facility modeling.Experience with ProMax, HYSYS, or equivalent process simulation software.Familiarity with P&ID; standards and engineering document redlining.Experience supporting or preparing MOC packages.Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Preferred QualificationsExperience with unconventional/shale production facilities.Compressor vibration analysis experience.Advanced ProMax/HYSYS modeling expertise.SAP asset management and registry management experience.HAZOP and Process Safety analysis exposure.Artificial Lift System conversions (ESP, Gas Lift, Rod Pump, Plunger Lift).Experience in managed services engineering environments.Familiarity with condition monitoring and reliability systems.Key CompetenciesProduction Facility OptimizationData Analytics & Engineering Decision MakingRoot Cause AnalysisFacility Capacity ModelingProcess Safety AwarenessTechnical DocumentationStakeholder Management
