Job Role: EMT – Emergency Medical Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and prompt Emergency Medical Technologist (EMT) to support emergency physicians in delivering quick, safe, and effective care to trauma, critical, and emergency patients. The role involves triaging, monitoring, assisting in procedures, and managing emergency equipment in the ER and during patient transport.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Emergency Patient Care: Assist in receiving, triaging, and prioritizing patients based on severity.Monitor vitals (BP, Pulse, SPO₂, ECG, Respiratory rate) and update clinical staff.Assist doctors in managing trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatric, and medical emergencies.Provide first aid, CPR, BLS/ACLS support, wound care, splinting, and immobilization.

2. Procedure Assistance: Assist in emergency procedures such as: Intubation, IV cannulation, Catheterization, Nebulization, Sample collection, Dressing and suturing setup. Prepare emergency trays and equipment for procedures.

3. Ambulance & Transport Support: Support safe transfer of patients within the hospital or during ambulance transport.Operate ambulance monitoring systems and emergency kits.Ensure readiness of ambulance equipment (oxygen, suction, defibrillator, stretcher).

4. Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain emergency care equipment : Defibrillator, Suction machine, AEDECG machine, Ventilator (transport)Report equipment failures and ensure timely servicing.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain ER patient documentation, vitals charting, procedure notes, and emergency logs.Follow NABH/NABL standards for records and patient safety.Assist in coding and reporting emergency cases.

6. Safety & Compliance: Follow infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal guidelines.Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital protocols.Ensure ER zone safety and preparedness for mass casualty events.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of emergency medical care
- Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments
- Valuable communication & teamwork skills
- Hands-on experience with ER equipment
- Quick decision-making and crisis management
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

- Diploma in Emergency Medical Technology / Paramedical EMT
- B.Sc Emergency & Trauma Care Technology / B.Sc Allied Health Sciences

Experience: 1–5 years in Emergency Department / ICU / Trauma care
