Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating, inspecting, and ensuring the quality execution of all electrical works during the construction of a four-floor hospital building. The role includes monitoring contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, applicable electrical codes, and coordinating with civil, HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire-fighting, and biomedical teams for timely completion of the project.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution
- Supervise all electrical installation works at the construction site.
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project schedules.
- Monitor daily site activities and maintain progress reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, architects, and project management teams.
- Verify installation of conduits, cable trays, wiring, switchgear, transformers, panels, DG systems, UPS, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
- Ensure electrical works are completed within approved timelines and budget.
Quality Control
- Inspect materials before installation to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain workmanship quality.
- Ensure compliance with National Building Code (NBC), Indian Electricity Rules, IS Standards, and hospital-specific requirements.
- Review contractor quality documentation and inspection reports.
- Identify defects and ensure timely corrective actions.
Coordination
- Coordinate electrical services with civil, plumbing, HVAC, fire-fighting, medical gas pipeline systems, lifts, and interior works.
- Participate in project coordination meetings.
- Resolve site execution issues and provide technical guidance.
Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise testing of electrical systems.
- Witness insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, and functional tests.
- Coordinate commissioning of transformers, LT panels, DG sets, UPS systems, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Prepare commissioning reports and snag lists.
Safety
- Ensure electrical works comply with all safety regulations.
- Monitor contractor compliance with PPE and electrical safety practices.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections.
- Report unsafe conditions and implement corrective measures.
Documentation
- Maintain daily progress reports.
- Verify contractor measurements and bills.
- Review shop drawings and as-built drawings.
- Maintain inspection records, material approvals, and testing reports.
- Assist in preparing project completion documentation.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Monitor contractor performance.
- Verify quantities executed.
- Review material consumption.
- Coordinate procurement of electrical materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of equipment.
Handover
- Prepare punch lists.
- Coordinate final inspections.
- Ensure completion of all pending works.
- Support statutory inspections and approvals.
- Facilitate smooth handover of electrical systems to the hospital operations team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid Electrical Supervisor License (preferred).
- Membership of professional engineering bodies is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical construction projects.
- At least 2 years in hospital, healthcare, commercial, or institutional building projects preferred.
- Experience in multi-storey building electrical installations is essential.
Technical Skills
- Electrical distribution systems.
- LT Panels, HT systems, transformers.
- DG sets and UPS systems.
- Lighting and power systems.
- Earthing and lightning protection.
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
- Electrical load calculations.
- Reading electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.

Salary
As per qualifications, experience, and company policy.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
