Job Summary
The Palo Alto Firewall Engineer is responsible for securing and maintaining enterprise network environments through the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and support of Palo Alto Networks security platforms. The role focuses on firewall policy management, security operations, incident resolution, network security architecture, and compliance with organizational security standards
Key Responsibilities

Firewall Administration & Operations Administer and support Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and Panorama. Configure and maintain security policies, NAT rules, application controls, and URL filtering. Manage firewall upgrades, patching, high-availability (HA) configurations, and hardware replacements. Implement and troubleshoot Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN solutions. , [Krunal Cha...k Security | PDF], [UHG - HCL...equired 1 | PowerPoint] Monitoring & Incident Management Monitor firewall health, traffic patterns, and security events. Investigate and resolve firewall-related incidents, outages, and performance issues. Participate in major incident bridges and war rooms for critical security events. Analyze logs using monitoring and SIEM tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, or equivalent platforms.





Skill Requirements
Technical Skills
Solid hands-on experience with Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama.
Firewall rule management, NAT, security policy administration.
VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
Log analysis and monitoring using SIEM platforms.
Experience with HA configurations and disaster recovery solutions.

Certifications (Preferred)
PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer)
PCCET / PCNSA
CCNA or CCNP
Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
Experience
5–8+ years of experience in Network Security Engineering.
3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls in enterprise environments.
Experience supporting 24×7 operations and critical incident management.
