Job Description – Design Electrical Engineer

Reports To- Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate shall possess extensive experience in the design and coordination of electrical systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, aviation, infrastructure, and industrial facilities.

The candidate shall have a strong consultancy background with proven capability in delivering projects from concept through detailed design, tender documentation, construction support, and commissioning. The role requires excellent technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Design- Develop electrical designs for building and industrial projects in accordance with international and local codes and standards.

Prepare concept, schematic, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.

Perform electrical load calculations, demand assessments and power system studies.

Design: Medium Voltage (MV) distribution systems

Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems

Transformer and substation layouts

Emergency power systems

Diesel generator systems

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and Synchronization systems

UPS systems

Power factor correction systems

Cable routing and containment systems

Internal and external lighting systems

Emergency lighting systems

Earthing and bonding systems

Lightning protection systems

Small power distribution

ELV infrastructure interfaces

Engineering Documentation

Prepare engineering reports and design basis documents.

Develop single line diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams and electrical layouts.

Prepare cable schedules, panel schedules and equipment schedules.

Produce technical specifications, employer's requirements and tender documents.

Prepare BOQs and cost estimates.

Review shop drawings, material submittals and vendor documentation.





Respond to RFIs and provide engineering support during construction.

Design Coordination: Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and ELV disciplines.

Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.

Interface with utility authorities, clients and project stakeholders.

Ensure coordination between building services and industrial process requirements.

Review clashes and coordinate BIM models where applicable.

Technical Competencies: The candidate shall possess strong knowledge of:

International Electrical Codes and Standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, NFPA where applicable)

Electrical system sizing and calculations

Short circuit analysis: Voltage drop calculations

Cable sizing

Protection coordination

Lighting design

Earthing and lightning protection

Emergency power systems

Industrial electrical distribution systems

Building electrical services

Electrical safety principles

Energy-efficient design practices

Software Skills: Proficiency in the following software is preferred:

AutoCAD

Revit MEP

ETAP

Experience with electrical calculations and BIM-based design coordination will be considered an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design.

Minimum 5 years within an engineering consultancy setting.

Proven experience in both building services and industrial projects.

Experience working on GCC/Middle East projects is preferred.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹225,000.00 per month
