The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the pharmacy in dispensing medicines, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate and efficient service to patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing Support:
Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescribed medicines.
Pack, label, and organize medicines accurately as per prescriptions.
Ensure the right medicine and dosage are given to the right patient.
Inventory & Stock Management:
Receive and check stock from suppliers.
Maintain proper storage and record of medicines.
Monitor expiry dates and remove expired or damaged stock.
Update stock registers and assist in reordering supplies.
Customer/Patient Service:
Communicate politely with patients and staff.
Provide information about medicine availability.
Assist in billing and cash handling (if required).
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain records of medicine issue and receipts.
Keep prescription copies and bills properly filed.
Assist in maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Compliance & Cleanliness:
Follow pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pharmacy area.
Ensure proper disposal of expired or returned medicines.
