A CNC & VMC Programmer is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing machining programs for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, selecting tooling, setting machining parameters, and ensuring high-quality production while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and edit CNC/VMC programs using G-code and CAM software.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining processes.
- Set machining parameters such as speeds, feeds, and tool offsets.
- Conduct trial runs and optimize programs to improve cycle time and quality.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams.
- Maintain program records and process documentation.
- Follow workplace safety and quality standards.
- Support machine setup and process improvement activities.
