Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based infrastructure. The candidate should have robust expertise in system administration, storage management, and production support environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring high availability
- Handling storage administration and related activities
- Performing system upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting
- Managing user access, security, and compliance requirements
- Daily and weekly housekeeping of servers and associated systems
- Coordinating with clients for daily operational requirements
- Providing L3 level support for complex technical issues
- Maintaining system documentation and operational procedures

Job Responsibilities:

- Valuable knowledge of Banking environment or setup, compliance, Audit related activities i.e. evidence and report submission.
- Good knowledge of SEIM, DAM, BMC, AD, Antivirus integration.
- Conducting DR drills as per client requirement. Requisite BCP Support including DC/DR switchover / switchback activities
- Expertise in Installation, Managing and Monitoring of Intel Based hardware
- Expertise in Installation, Managing and Monitoring of RHEL Operating system. Linux Kernel Upgrade, Upgrade/Migration of Linux OS, Analysing/fixing critical errors. OS Cluster configuration
- Excellent knowledge on Installation / configuration of Web/Application servers – Apache & Tomcat
- Excellent experience in Linux OS patching, Hardening and upgrades on a regular basis. Firmware update/upgrade of servers and associated devices, SAN Storage related configuration in Linux servers.
- Excellent experience in Linux administration activities like Disk Management, File System Management, File/Directory Permissions, OS Parameter setting, User Management, Network Configuration, NTP Configuration, Installation / configuration of Network services like DNS, NFS, SAMBA, Installation & configuration of YUM server.




- Good knowledge in Installation of RPMs/Software like java, sudo, lsof etc
- Change Request Execution, Cron Jobs Management
- Resolution of activities escalated by L1/L2. Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software and communication problems
- Excellent knowledge in proactively monitoring system performance, capacity planning and maintaining records
- Expertise in OS Log Management / Rotation / Purging
- Configuring and monitoring of Backup jobs and maintaining records
- Coordination with Application Support and Development teams for OS, Storage & Network Bandwidth related queries / issues towards guidance / resolution
- OS Support during DB patching, Application patching, Hardware maintenance activities
- Expertise in Installation, Managing and Monitoring of Network and Storage devices
- Knowledge and practical experience of DELL and EMC SAN Storage and Storage Domain
- Good working knowledge of Fabric Switches
- Troubleshoot issues related to SAN Fabric and Brocade Switch configuration, Performance tuning of Storage, Performance analysis of environment,
- Identify requirements into presentable for OS skill from Storage view, Storage system functionality and exploitation, Assessment and health checks
- Exposure to replication technologies and Data Protection techniques
- Administer EMC Networker backup solution for backup and recovery purposes
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patching and monitoring to ensure optimal system performance

Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
- Experience in storage administration and system monitoring
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster management




- Understanding of networking concepts
- Ability to work in production and support environments

Professional:

- RHEL and Storage Administrator with Network Experience
- Good knowledge of Linux
- Good knowledge of SAN Storage

Tool/Technical Skills:

- Should have strong Linux OS administration skills on Red hat Linux, Experience in LVM & File system management, User management & OS Installation, RHEL clustering.
- Knowledge of Apache Tomcat Configuration.
- Experience in configuration of Storage and SAN Fabric including Zoning configurations
- Excellent knowledge of backup solutions
- Good knowledge of LAN networks, switches, routers to analyse bandwidth utilisation
- Knowledge of MySQL will be an added advantage

Management Skills:

- Prepare and Maintain Documentation
- Should be able to manage the client site without much supervision
- Take ownership of situations to complete the requirements
- Maintaining trackers and knowledgebase

Functional Skills:

- Good communication skills in English
- Must be willing to work in Shifts as defined and extend support as and when required
- Co-ordinating with Vendors and backend teams for issues related to OS towards resolving issues. Call Logging / Coordination with Software OEM/ATS Vendor for software / hardware issues
- Coordination with Application Support and Development teams for OS related queries / issues towards guidance / resolution
- Daily & Weekly House Keeping of servers and associated devices as required. Inventory Maintenance for Linux Servers & Storage.
- Monitoring Backup, Users and Groups to provide daily/weekly reports to stakeholders.
- Co-ordinating with client for their daily requirements of reports generations and application maintenance.

Preferred Certifications:

- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
- Storage-related certifications
- ITIL or other relevant certifications
