Role Overview

Lead a high-performing pan-India network operations function that delivers a reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient telecom infrastructure foundation for a successful 5G rollout across 10,000+ tower sites, while improving network availability, accelerating incident resolution, strengthening vendor performance, and enabling business growth through operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end pan-India network operations strategy and execution for 4G/5G telecom infrastructure across 10,000+ tower sites.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and operational readiness for nationwide 5G rollout, ensuring site, spectrum, power, and transmission dependencies are aligned.
- Drive network availability, uptime, and service continuity through robust preventive maintenance, fault management, and escalation governance.
- Oversee spectrum planning coordination with internal stakeholders and regulatory/technical teams to optimize network performance and rollout sequencing.
- Manage large vendor and partner ecosystem including tower companies, OEMs, managed service providers, and field maintenance vendors.
- Negotiate and govern commercial, operational, and SLA terms with vendors to improve cost efficiency, quality, and delivery accountability.
- Establish and monitor operating rhythms, KPIs, and governance forums across regional teams to ensure consistent performance across India.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders across engineering, rollout, RF planning, product, finance, procurement, and regulatory teams to remove execution bottlenecks.
- Lead incident management, major outage response, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for critical network issues.
- Build, mentor,



and scale high-performing teams across network operations, field operations, and regional support functions.
- Champion process standardization, automation, and digital tooling to improve operational visibility, response time, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, statutory, and telecom infrastructure standards across all operational sites and field activities.

Qualifications

Required

- 15+ years of progressive experience in telecom network operations, infrastructure operations, or large-scale telecom rollout leadership
- Proven leadership of pan-India or multi-region telecom operations with responsibility for large distributed site portfolios
- Hands-on experience managing 10,000+ tower sites or comparable national-scale telecom infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience leading 4G/5G rollout or major network expansion programs
- Solid experience in vendor negotiations, contract governance, and SLA management
- Track record of leading cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a matrix environment
- Deep understanding of network availability, incident management, and operational excellence practices
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or a related discipline

Preferred

- MBA, PGDM, or equivalent management qualification
- Experience with spectrum planning, network modernization, or 5G readiness programs
- Prior leadership experience in a telecom operator, tower company, or infrastructure-led network services environment
- Exposure to automation, digitization, or network operations transformation initiatives
- Certifications in project/program management, operations management, or telecom technologies
- Experience working in highly regulated or geographically distributed markets
- Advanced commercial acumen with P&L; or budget accountability
