Job Summary

We are looking for skilled Marine Electricians with experience in shipbuilding or ship repair projects. The candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, cable laying, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities onboard vessels while ensuring compliance with marine standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, terminate, and test electrical cables onboard ships.
- Perform cable laying, cable dressing, glanding, and termination.
- Install electrical panels, switchboards, lighting systems, motors, and marine electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Carry out electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure proper identification and routing of electrical cables.
- Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and commissioning teams.
- Follow shipyard safety procedures and maintain positive housekeeping.
- Ensure work is completed within project timelines while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements





- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or heavy engineering industries.
- Hands-on experience in cable laying, glanding, termination, and electrical equipment installation.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems and safety practices.
- Physically fit to work onboard ships, at heights, and in confined spaces.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in new shipbuilding projects.
- Knowledge of marine standards and commissioning procedures.
- Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as insulation resistance testers and multimeters.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
