Job Description: Project Engineer – Construction & Maintenance

Location: Saraswati Vidya Academy, Lonavala (Pune district, Maharashtra)

Role Summary

The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day civil maintenance, repair works, and infrastructure development across the school campus. The role includes supervising construction activities, coordinating with contractors, architects and agencies, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining campus facilities in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise civil construction, renovation, and maintenance works across the campus.
- Supervise maintenance staff on campus for day-to-day activities.
- Review architectural, structural, and service drawings to ensure work is executed as per approved plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, architects, and consultants.
- Monitor quality, timelines, and safety at construction sites.
- Identify maintenance requirements and ensure timely repairs.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify work against approved drawings and identify deviations.
- Prepare estimates,



obtain quotations, and verify contractor bills based on completed work.
- Maintain records of ongoing projects, maintenance activities, and asset inventories.
- Create regular reports for management as required.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and administration to ensure smooth campus operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, facility management, or civil maintenance.
- Experience in educational residential campuses will be preferred.

Skills

- Knowledge of civil construction and maintenance practices.
- Ability to supervise contractors and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and utility systems.
- Good communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.
