Job Requirement – Cost Analyst (Home Appliances)

Location: MPPL Manufacturing Plant, Dharuhera (Rewari), Haryana

Industry Preference: Air Coolers (Highly Preferred), Home Appliances, Consumer Durables

Experience

- 5–10+ years in the home appliances or consumer durables industry.

- Mandatory experience in air coolers. Candidates with experience in fans, water heaters, or other home appliances will also be considered.

- Solid exposure to plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and product assembly.

Key Responsibilities

Product Costing & Should-Cost Analysis

- Conduct detailed component-level and BOM-level cost analysis for every part and finished product.

- Develop and maintain should-cost models for all components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods.

- Establish standard costing for each individual component and continuously benchmark against market prices.

- Identify cost reduction opportunities through design optimization, material substitution, and process improvements.

Commodity & Market Intelligence

- Track commodity price movements for steel (CRCA, GI, Stainless Steel), aluminium, copper, plastic resins (PP, ABS, HIPS, PC, Nylon), brass, packaging materials, motors, electronic components, fasteners, and bought-out parts.

- Provide monthly commodity trend reports and recommend sourcing strategies based on market movements.

Vendor Development & Strategic Sourcing

- Lead vendor development for existing and new components.

- Identify alternate suppliers and develop competitive sourcing strategies.

- Conduct supplier cost benchmarking and capability assessments.

- Support new product sourcing from the RFQ stage through commercial finalization.

Commercial Negotiation

- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers using should-cost models and market intelligence.

- Validate supplier quotations at the individual component level to ensure competitive pricing.

- Drive annual cost reduction initiatives and productivity improvements with suppliers.





- Work closely with the Purchase team to achieve annual material cost-saving targets.

Manufacturing Cost Analysis

- Analyze raw material consumption, conversion costs, machine cycle times, tooling and mold costs, labour, overheads, rejection, and process efficiencies.

- Benchmark manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Procurement, R&D;, Design, Production, Quality, and Finance to improve product profitability and reduce overall product cost.

Reporting & Analytics

- Prepare dashboards covering:

- Component-wise cost

- BOM cost analysis

- Commodity price trends

- Vendor benchmarking

- Material price variance

- Cost-saving initiatives

- Product profitability

- Purchase savings tracker

Technical Skills

- Expertise in BOM costing and should-cost analysis.

- Solid understanding of plastic molding, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, welding, powder coating, and assembly processes.

- Excellent commercial negotiation and vendor development skills.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel; ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) preferred.

- Power BI and CAD drawing interpretation will be an added advantage.

Key Deliverables

- Complete component-wise and BOM-wise cost database for all products.

- Monthly commodity price tracker.

- Vendor should-cost reports and benchmarking.

- Alternate vendor development plan.

- Annual purchase cost reduction roadmap.

- Product-wise profitability analysis.

- Continuous identification of material and process optimization opportunities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Background in leading home appliance or cooler manufacturers/OEMs.

- Hands-on manufacturing exposure with factory-based costing.

- Strong expertise in component-level costing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, and strategic sourcing.

- Willing to work full-time from the MPPL Manufacturing Plant, Dharuhera (Rewari), Haryana.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
