Job Description

Mechanical Engineer Pune · Full Time · Hybrid

About the Role The Mechanical Engineer will be a team member responsible for fulfilling project objectives, delivering robust and reliable products on time, with high quality and within costs. The role involves working closely with the Application Leader and other teams to achieve project goals. Success in this role means consistently delivering high-quality products while driving innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop concepts for innovative products considering feasibility, cost, lifespan, customer, and legal requirements.
- Apply best design and process practices, including standard parts, Lessons Learned, and CAD methodology.
- Provide technical support within mechanical construction during product development.
- Cooperate with external and internal customers and suppliers from product concept to launch.
- Develop and update DFMEA and participate in creating CAE plans, DV plans, and component tests.
- Collaborate with teams to support successful design verification and delivery of PPAP on time.
- Participate in customer and quality audits for given products or projects.
- Scout for innovation opportunities and cost optimizations, participating in DCRM sessions.
- Perform benchmarking, prepare inputs, and participate in the benchmarking process.
- Provide technical support to new business development,



including Engineering BOM and presentations.
- Mentor new PD engineers and ensure compliance with safety, health, and fire protection regulations.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 6 years of experience in designing lamps for automotive 4-wheeler lighting (front and rear lamps).
- Knowledge of CATIA V5.
- Understanding of GD&T; and DFMEA.
- Experience with design of parts for plastic injection molding.
- Teamcentre knowledge is not mandatory.
