Automation Framework Architect/ Senior Technical Lead – Job Description
Role Summary
Experienced Automation Framework Architect responsible for designing, Creating and implementing scalable, enterprise-grade automation frameworks across UI, API, and backend systems. The role drives automation strategy, DevOps enablement, cloud-native execution, and AI-assisted quality engineering to accelerate release cycles and improve product quality.
This role enables cloud-native, DevOps-integrated Quality Engineering, combining BDD-driven automation, Kubernetes-based execution, and GenAI enablement to deliver faster, scalable, and cost-efficient software releases
Key Responsibilities
Automation Architecture & Strategy
Design and implement Hybrid, Keyword-driven, Data-driven, and BDD frameworks
Define automation architecture across UI, API, DB, and E2E layers
Establish reusable components, libraries, and governance standards
Framework Development & Engineering
Develop frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Karate, Playwright, TestNG, Maven
Implement BDD-based automation (Karate/Cucumber)
Enable scalable execution (parallel, cross-browser/device) with robust reporting
CI/CD, DevOps & Cloud Enablement
Integrate automation into Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines using custom scripts
Design and maintain pipeline orchestration and automated quality gates
Enable containerized test execution (Docker/Kubernetes)
Manage energetic scaling of execution environments (Azure pods / AKS scale up/down)
Collaborate with DevOps teams for infrastructure, deployment, and release readiness
Cloud & Platform Engineering
Work with AWS and Azure cloud platforms for test execution environments
Implement containerization and orchestration strategies using Kubernetes
Optimize execution using auto-scaling, distributed test execution frameworks
Key Responsibilities
API & Integration Testing
Automate API testing using:
Karate Framework
Postman, SOAP UI, REST APIs
Validate backend services, integrations, and microservices workflows
AI & Intelligent Automation
Leverage GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and GenAI solutions for:
Automated script creation
Test maintenance optimization
Improve productivity and standardization through AI-assisted workflows
Governance & Optimization
Define KPIs: automation coverage, execution efficiency, defect leakage
Optimize regression suites and reduce execution cycle time
Align with enterprise QA governance and release management practices
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead automation initiatives and mentor teams
Engage with cross-functional stakeholders (Dev, Product, Business)
Provide architectural guidance and solutioning inputs

Experience & Qualifications
10–15+ years in Quality Engineering / Automation Engineering
Proven experience in automation architecture & framework design
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
Other Requirements
1.Relevant certifications in DevOps, React.js, or full stack development are a plus
