About the Role

Svaya Robotics is adding an Engineer, Robot Motion Planning, you will develop and implement motion planning and control algorithms across our collaborative and bimanual humanoid robots. You will develop efficient motion planning and trajectory control algorithms across manipulation, grasping and whole-body control. You will work alongside our controls and perception teams to tackle toughest challenges faced in real-world deployment to make robots adapt to real world dynamic constraints, task variations and environment uncertainty with utmost reliability. You will be responsible for building and deploying the software on on-board robot computer with real-time hard constraints, integration with robot data and models, robust fault detection, diagnostics and recovery. The ideal candidate will have solid background in robot kinematics and dynamics with solid programming skills in C++

About the work





- Develop and deploy collision free motion planning algorithms for manipulation and grasping on robotic manipulators (6 & 7 Axis) and bimanual humanoid robots
- Research & develop novel algorithms for whole body control to enable robots to adapt and recover in real-world deployments
- Work closely with controls and perception teams to develop and deploy robust autonomic stack in loco-manipulation and grasping
- Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines and communicate design and technology priorities and provide constructive guidance to evolve a robust and reliable robot platform

About You

- Experience in developing and implementing novel motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms on robotic systems
- Strong understanding of robot fundaments in kinematics (FK/IK), rigid body dynamics, and frame transformations
- Familiarity with C++, multi-threaded programming, and high-performance optimization
- Positive foundation in numerical optimization techniques such as, non-linear constrained optimization methods
- Knowledge and experience working with ROS, MoveIt is a plus
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced startup development environment
- Learning mindset with willingness to take on new challenges and solve unfamiliar problems.
- Should have good communication skills and be able to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams

Nice to Have’s

- Knowledge of general software packages for motion planning, collision detection, and simulation of robotic systems.
- Experience developing novel planning and trajectory optimization algorithms subject to geometric and dynamic interaction constraints such as contact, friction and collision
- Experience with perception and scene understanding as it pertains to motion planning

Education

MS or MTech (or higher) with specialization in robot motion planning, control and learning or Related field
