Job Title: Primary English Teacher (Classes I–V)

Department: Academics

Reports To: Primary Coordinator / Principal

Job Summary

The Primary English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate English instruction aligned with the CBSE curriculum for students in Classes I–V. The teacher fosters the development of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive English lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Develop students' foundational skills in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, phonics, spelling, handwriting, and oral communication.
- Use storytelling, songs, games, role plays, digital resources, and activity-based learning to make lessons engaging.
- Create lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and teaching-learning materials.
- Assess student learning through classwork, projects, oral presentations, quizzes, and periodic assessments.
- Maintain student records, attendance, assessment data, and progress reports.
- Provide timely feedback and individualized support to students with varying learning needs.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and effective communication skills.
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage valuable reading habits through classroom libraries, reading activities, and literary events.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' academic progress and overall development.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, assemblies,



and co-curricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and school initiatives.
- Integrate technology into classroom teaching where appropriate.
- Comply with school policies, CBSE guidelines, and child safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in English or a related discipline.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

Experience

- 1–3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong communication skills and a passion for teaching young learners may also apply.

- Strong understanding of child-centered teaching methodologies.
- Knowledge of the CBSE curriculum for primary grades.
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
