Job Description – Resident Medical Officer (RMO)

Position: Resident Medical Officer (RMO)
Department: Emergency
Reports To: Medical Superintendent

Job Summary

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing round-the-clock medical care to inpatients and emergency patients, ensuring timely clinical assessment, stabilization, treatment, and coordination with consultants to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform initial assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in the emergency department, wards, and ICU as assigned.
- Provide prompt medical care during emergencies and initiate life-saving measures when required.
- Monitor patients' clinical condition and document progress notes accurately.
- Assist consultants during patient rounds, procedures, and treatment planning.
- Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as per hospital policies.
- Prescribe medications and investigations within the scope of hospital protocols.
- Interpret laboratory and radiological reports and take appropriate clinical action.
- Coordinate with consultants regarding changes in patient condition and obtain timely medical advice.
- Respond to all medical emergencies, including Code Blue situations.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records in compliance with NABH standards.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained before procedures whenever applicable.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants regarding treatment plans.




- Coordinate with Nursing, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and other departments for seamless patient care.
- Adhere to infection control practices, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, CME programs, and mandatory training sessions.
- Perform any other clinical duties assigned by the Medical Superintendent or Hospital Management.

Qualification

- MBBS from a recognized Medical College.
- Valid TCMC Registration (Mandatory).
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.

Experience

- Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of clinical experience are eligible.
- Experience in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care is an added advantage.

- Solid clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Team-oriented with a patient-centric approach.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital quality protocols.

Working Conditions

- Rotational shifts, including day, night, weekends, and public holidays.
- On-call duties as per departmental requirements.

Best in the industry, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹75,000.00 per day
