HVAC Design Engineer (2-5 years)

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineer with up to 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC design, analysis, duct sizing pressure balancing and project execution, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as Energy Pro, HAP, or similar.



A solid understanding of ASHRAE standards and/or California Title 24 energy codes is required.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop HVAC systems, including load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.

- Conduct energy modeling and performance simulations using tools such as Energy Pro, similar software.

- Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE standards, California Title 24 energy codes, and other relevant regulations.

- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to coordinate HVAC systems with overall project designs.

- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.

- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability in system designs.

Candidate requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in HVAC design.

- Proficiency in Energy Pro, or comparable HVAC software tools.

- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and/or California Title 24 energy codes.

- Strong understanding of HVAC system principles, energy modeling, and building performance analysis.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
