Your Role
Gensler's Mumbai office is seeking a highly driven and strategic Pursuits & Proposals Marketing Specialist to play a central role in delivering high-impact business development outcomes across India and the Asia Pacific & Middle East region.
This position focuses on the management of pursuits and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, guiding opportunities from initial qualification through to the development of compelling proposals and client presentations. The ideal candidate brings experience within architecture, design, engineering (AEC), or other highly proposal-driven professional services environments, with a strong understanding of the pace, complexity, and collaboration required to support winning pursuits.
Reporting to the APME Marketing Director and working closely with the India Marketing Manager as your in office team lead , you will be an integral member of both the India Marketing Team and the broader Asia Pacific & Middle East (APME) Regional Marketing Team .
Based in Mumbai, you will partner closely with the Mumbai office leadership team , supporting local business development priorities, pursuit strategies, and market-facing initiatives. You will also collaborate with marketing colleagues across Mumbai and Bangalore, as well as the wider APME marketing network, to deliver strategic pursuits, strengthen Gensler's brand presence, and support growth opportunities across India.
In addition to pursuit management, this role contributes to proactive marketing, thought leadership, brand-building, and client engagement initiatives that elevate Gensler's visibility and reputation in the Indian market and APME.
What You Will Do
Pursuit & RFP Management
- Manage the end-to-end RFP process, from intake and qualification to submission
- Assess requirements, define pursuit strategies, and coordinate timelines and inputs across teams
- Support go/no-go decisions and ensure compliance with client and brand standards
Proposal & Presentation Development
- Lead the creation of high-quality proposals and client presentations with a critical emphasis on graphic design excellence and visual storytelling
- Develop compelling win themes, messaging, and visual narratives
- Collaborate with leadership and project teams to translate complex content into clear, persuasive submissions
Strategic Business Development Support
- Partner with leadership on pursuit strategy, positioning, interview preparation, and client engagement efforts
- Conduct research and gather insights that strengthen competitive positioning and pursuit strategies
Proactive Marketing & Brand Building
- Contribute to marketing campaigns and brand-building initiatives that strengthen Gensler's profile in India and support APME regional priorities
- Support the development of:
- Social media content and campaigns
- Thought leadership materials and publications
- Award submissions
- Client events, industry engagements, and strategic marketing activations
- Help identify opportunities to elevate Gensler's visibility, expertise, and market positioning within India and the wider region
Regional & Local Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic marketing partner to the Mumbai office leadership team, supporting local business development priorities, pursuit strategies, and growth initiatives
- Work closely with principals, practice leaders, and project teams in Mumbai to develop compelling pursuit strategies, proposals, presentations, and client engagement materials
- Collaborate with the India Marketing Manager and marketing team members across Mumbai and Bangalore to deliver coordinated business development and marketing efforts
- Actively contribute to the broader APME regional marketing team, sharing best practices, content, market intelligence, and pursuit resources across offices and regions
- Support regional and cross-border pursuits by partnering with marketing and business development colleagues throughout the Asia Pacific & Middle East region
Operational Excellence
- Manage multiple concurrent pursuits in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Maintain and improve proposal content, systems, and workflows
Sustainability Integration
Support Gensler’s broader sustainability goals through day-to-day activities. Incorporate sustainability messaging into pursuits and marketing efforts where relevant
Your Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong emphasis on RFP management, proposals, and pursuits
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field
- Proven experience in architecture, design, engineering (AEC), or other highly proposal-driven professional services environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value pursuits from start to finish
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders, offices, or regions within a professional services environment is highly desirable

- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities paired with a keen eye for graphic design and visual composition
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to contribute to win strategies
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Design & Tools
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required).
- Working knowledge of:
- Photoshop and Illustrator (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)
- Google Slides, Keynote, and Miro (plus)
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is advantageous
