Job Description: A Manager Process SID (Sponge Iron Division/DRI) in a steel manufacturing plant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, production efficiency, and cost control of Rotary Kilns. They focus on maximizing production output while ensuring safety, quality, and managing raw materials like iron ore and coal. [1] Key Job Responsibilities

- Production & Operations: Supervise daily operations, production planning, and raw material usage to meet daily kiln targets.
- Process Optimization: Analyze process parameters, optimize raw material feed, control kiln temperature and pressure to ensure optimal DRI quality and reduce specific coal consumption.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of operators, engineers, and staff, providing training and ensuring shift efficiency.
- Maintenance Coordination:



Work with the mechanical/electrical teams to manage shutdowns and ensure routine maintenance.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations (PPE, LOTO) within the plant. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 10-15 years in a sponge iron plant with experience in rotary kilns.
- Skills: Solid understanding of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production, process automation (PLC/DCS), and MS Office proficiency. [1, 2, 3]
