Job Summary
RTB Database Operations & Monitoring
• Monitor Oracle databases to identify performance issues such as high CPU, I/O waits, blocking sessions, and load spikes
• Perform initial triage and provide evidence based analysis using reports, metrics, and execution plans
• Execute approved operational and tuning actions and validate post change stability
SQL Performance & Query Analysis
• Analyze slow running and resource intensive SQL queries impacting production workloads
• Review execution plans, statistics, bind behavior, and index usage
• Implement pre approved SQL tuning actions and support fixes provided by PayPal SME’s
• Assist application teams with query validation and performance verification
PL/SQL Support
• Support and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, cursors, and triggers




• Perform PL/SQL debugging and error analysis in production and non production environments
• Assist with performance validation and regression checks for PL/SQL changes
• Follow PayPal coding, change, and deployment standards
SQL Tuning Advisor & Execution
• Run Oracle SQL Tuning Advisor during performance investigations
• Share tuning recommendations with PayPal SMEs.
• Implement approved SQL Profiles and validate performance improvements
• Document before/after metrics for audit and operational reporting
Key Responsibilities
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience as Oracle DBA – supporting Oracle 11g / 12c / 19c databases
• Robust working knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL packages
• Hands on experience SQL execution plan analysis
• Working knowledge of SQL Tuning Advisor at execution level
