About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our in-office team and build scalable, high-impact backend systems.

In this role, you will design and build scalable backend architecture and AI-powered product features, shipping code to production that's used by thousands of businesses globally. This is a high-ownership role where your work will have visible, real-world impact.

Responsibilities

This is a high-ownership individual contributor role

- Lead and take full responsibility for the backend development of our product
- Build robust APIs and backend logic that power real-time experiences for thousands of e-commerce businesses
- Work on AI-driven features and contribute to building an AI-first product experience
- Contribute to database design, performance optimisation, and overall system architecture
- Drive the product forward by owning everything from architectural decisions to final deployment
- Collaborate openly with your team, communicate proactively, and take pride in your work. This is not a solo journey

Qualifications

- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of backend development, APIs,



and scalable systems
- Customer-Centric Approach: A genuine passion for helping customers succeed and a strong commitment to providing outstanding service
- AI & Integrations: Interest or exposure to AI concepts, APIs (OpenAI, etc.), or automation workflows
- Ownership-Driven: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Automation Mindset: Interest in identifying and implementing automation solutions to streamline processes
