Job Summary
Role OverviewDatabase Developer – PostgreSQL responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions using PostgreSQL. This role involves creating effective schemas, writing optimized queries, and ensuring data integrity and performance across applications.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, and relationships
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
Implement indexing strategies and query tuning for performance optimization
Develop ETL processes and data migration scripts
Ensure database security, backup, and recovery strategies
Collaborate with application developers to integrate database solutions
Maintain documentation and provide production support for database systems

Required Skills
5–10 years of experience in database development, with strong PostgreSQL expertise
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and PL/pgSQL functions
Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization
Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD for database deployments
Familiarity with backup, recovery, and high availability strategies




Understanding of security best practices for databases

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with other relational databases like MySQL or Oracle
Exposure to big data technologies or NoSQL databases
Certifications in PostgreSQL or database administration will be a plus

Good to Have Skills
Experience with Java programming language
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot framework
Understanding of Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
Experience integrating PostgreSQL with Java-based applications
Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Key Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for providing technical guidance / solutions; define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
2. To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
