Job Description: An accountant for a steel manufacturing or trading company manages financial operations, cost accounting, and tax compliance. - Cost Accounting & Inventory: Track and analyze production costs, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods (e.g., TMT bars, structural steel).
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L;, Cash Flow).
- Taxation & Compliance: Manage direct and indirect tax filings (GST, TDS/TCS) and ensure compliance with statutory norms.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain daily ledgers and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements.
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Monitor budgets, forecast cash flows,



and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit-ready documentation and compliance. [1, 2]

Essential Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Management Accountant (CMA) preferred for senior roles.
- Industry Experience: 3 to 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, sponge iron, or steel setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and deep familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Tally.
- Analytical Mindset: High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to grasp complex inventory tracking and manufacturing overheads. [1, 2]
