Job Description:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Foundry Production Manager is repsonsible for all aspects of foundry production and personnel including knowledge of the Melt, Moulding and Heat Treatment areas with regard to roll manufacture. Maintains effective quality procedures and ensures a safe and productive working environment. Communicate with Departmental Managers on maintenance activities and workflow scheduling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure adherence to/compliance with company policies, rules and regulations relating to safety/health, performance standards, procedures, processes and training requirements • Leads and directs all foundry operations to meet the performance goals of the company through appropriate management and delegation to Supervisors and Hourly Paid personnel • Actively seek ways to reduce cost in the department and improve working practices. Reports on production activities and performance with detailed cost analysis.



Provide periodic updates and reports as requested by management • Oversees all aspects of the Melt Department including planning and advising on melting weekly programme • Provide Supervisory cover across Melting, Moulding and Heat Treament areas should the need arise • Establish production schedules, weekly personnel schedules and labour requirements to achieve production goals and objectives • Collaborate with Director of Manufacturing to plan departmental work flow in order to achieve long term goals established by senior management • Acts as a liaison with employee representatives to establish and retain positive employee relations • Review and analyse production, quality control, production shortfalls and operating concerns for remediation and implementation of appropriate corrective action • Schedules and coordinates necessary employee training • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures • Directly supervises employees; monitors work quality including conducting performance appraisals and providing counselling for improving performance • Produces detailed Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work procedures
