Job Title: Fire and Safety Officer Sr. Officer
Total Work Experience: 3-6 years
Work Location: Kanpur –UP
Preferred Industry: UPVC Windows, Experience from profiles/Sheet extrusion industries /AUTO Sector
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor /Diploma: Fire and Safety
OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES/CERTIFICATION (if required):
Risk assessments (HIRA), Environment management system
Job Role:
 Develops, implements, and enforces fire prevention policies, conducts regular inspections, maintains safety equipment, and manages emergency responses.
 Inspections & Audits: Regularly inspect premises for fire hazards, ensuring functional extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and fire alarms.
 Emergency Response: Lead firefighting teams, manage evacuations, and respond immediately to fire or medical emergencies.
 Inspect Fire Protection Systems: Regularly inspect fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and other fire safety equipment to ensure they are functional.
 Arrange Maintenance and Repairs: Coordinate and oversee the maintenance, testing, and repair of fire safety equipment to ensure they operate effectively during emergencies.
 Respond to Fire Incidents: In the event of a fire, the Fire Safety Officer plays a key role in managing the situation, ensuring safe evacuation, controlling the spread of fire, and coordinating with firefighting teams.
 Incident Investigation: After a fire or fire alarm, the Fire Safety Officer investigates the cause, compiles reports, and identifies areas for improvement to prevent future incidents.
 Training: Conduct fire safety training sessions,



fire safety induction for new employees, and organize regular mock drills.
 Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and federal fire regulations and maintain updated No Objection Certificates (NOC).

 Risk Mitigation: Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), develop fire safety policies, and implement corrective actions.
 Implement Fire Prevention Measures: Develop and implement fire prevention programs, ensuring safe practices in areas like electrical safety, flammable material storage, and waste management.
 Monitor High-Risk Areas: Regularly monitor high-risk areas (e.g., kitchens, chemical storage) to ensure that fire prevention measures are being followed and potential hazards are minimized.
 Documentation: Maintain records of inspections, incidents, mock drills, and maintenance schedules.
 Maintain Safety Records: Keep detailed records of fire drills, equipment inspections, risk assessments, incidents, and training programs.
 Prepare Reports: Compile and present reports on fire safety performance, highlighting areas of concern and recommending improvements to senior management.
 Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fire codes, safety regulations, and emergency procedures
 Skills: Strong communication, observation, alertness, and ability to act under pressure.
 Establish Evacuation Routes: Design clear evacuation routes and ensure they are clearly marked and free from obstructions.
 Monitor Occupant Safety: During drills or actual emergencies, ensure the protected evacuation of occupants, giving special attention to those with disabilities or special needs.
