Role Description The Database Administrator role is a full-time, in office position based in Mumbai.

The Database

Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include monitoring database health, optimizing queries, managing backups and recovery procedures, and applying patches and upgrades. The role also involves collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to design effective schemas, troubleshoot database-related issues, and support application deployments.

follow change management processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of data management practices.

Qualifications
Strong proficiency in administering relational database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
Skills in backup and recovery, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
Knowledge of database security, access control, encryption, and compliance best practices.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Shell, Python) for automation and maintenance tasks.
Ability to work with development teams on schema design, data modeling, and deployment support.
Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team environment.
Experience in enterprise IT environments or managed services organizations is an advantage.
