Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye examinations.
Assess visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision.
Diagnose refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction devices.
Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate patient records and examination findings.
Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare providers for surgery or complex eye diseases.
Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, retinal cameras, OCT scanners, and tonometers.
Stay up to date with advances in eye care and clinical best practices.
