Plant Operator (Distillation Column)

Department: Production

Reporting To: Shift In-Charge / Production Executive

Job Purpose To operate and monitor the distillation column safely and efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining product quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities
Operate the distillation column and related equipment as per SOPs.
Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, and levels.
Perform start-up, shutdown, and routine operation of the plant.
Collect samples and coordinate with the Quality Control team.
Maintain production records and shift logbooks.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any abnormalities.
Coordinate with the Maintenance team during breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, PTW, and LOTO requirements.
Maintain positive housekeeping (5S) in the work area.




Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications
ITI (AOCP/Fitter/Mechanical) / Diploma in Chemical Engineering / B.Sc. Chemistry.

Experience
25 years of experience in operating distillation columns in a chemical manufacturing plant.

Skills
Knowledge of distillation process and plant equipment.
Ability to monitor and control process parameters.
Basic understanding of P&IDs; and DCS/PLC operations (preferred).
Valuable troubleshooting and communication skills.
Willingness to work in rotating shifts.
