Role Overview

Vaayu is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Textile Fashion Designer with a strong understanding of contemporary silhouettes, fabric innovation, and surface development. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the design and production teams to create contemporary, premium pret collections that blend timeless aesthetics with commercial appeal. Key Responsibilities

Design seasonal pret collections aligned with Vaayu's premium contemporary brand identity.

Develop cutting-edge silhouettes with a strong focus on fit, proportion, comfort, and wearability.

Research and experiment with fabrics, textures, prints, dyeing techniques, and surface embellishments suitable for premium pretwear.

Create mood boards, design sketches, technical drawings, and detailed tech packs.

Coordinate with sampling and production teams to ensure seamless execution from design concept to final garment.

Source and develop fabrics, trims, and embellishments in collaboration with vendors and textile partners.





Conduct trend research and competitor analysis to introduce fresh design directions while maintaining the brand's DNA.

Ensure collections meet quality, costing, and timeline objectives.

Skills & Qualities

Strong understanding of garment construction, silhouettes, draping, and fit.

Excellent knowledge of fabrics, textile development, prints, and surface ornamentation.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and technical sketching.

Strong aesthetic sense with attention to detail, color, and finishing.

Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design from NIFT, NID, or an equivalent institute.

2–5 years of experience in premium pretwear, contemporary ethnic wear, or modern apparel brands.

A solid portfolio showcasing textile innovation, silhouette development, and commercially successful collections is mandatory.
