Job Description

Job Purpose

Supervise civil and structural works for substations and HVDC terminal stations, including deep foundations, converter halls, control buildings, trenches, equipment foundations and gantry structures.

Key Responsibilities
Review approved civil and structural drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
Verify site grading, excavation, filling, compaction and soil-improvement works.
Supervise pile, raft, isolated, machine and equipment foundations.
Monitor converter hall, valve hall, control building, relay room and auxiliary-building construction.
Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, inserts and concrete works.
Verify equipment foundations for GIS, transformers, reactors, filters, switchgear and auxiliary systems.
Supervise cable trenches, culverts, drains, oil pits, firewalls, bunds and water-retaining structures.
Monitor structural-steel fabrication and erection for buildings, gantries,



bus supports and equipment structures.
Check stub-setting, gantry alignment, levels, plumbness and bolt tightening.
Monitor internal roads, drainage, boundary wall, landscaping and site-development works.
Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire-protection and cable-routing requirements.
Review concrete test results, material certificates, survey records and structural-inspection reports.
Identify deviations and initiate RFIs, observations or NCRs.
Verify as-built dimensions, levels and completion records.
Support punch-list close-out and civil handover.
