The following roles and responsibilities are applicable across multiple units.
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections.
Identify hazards and unsafe practices.
Ensure employees follow safety rules.
Ensure proper use of PPE.
Conduct safety induction and training.
Conduct toolbox talks.
Prepare and review risk assessments/JSA.
Monitor machine and electrical safety.
Monitor fire safety equipment and arrangements.
Conduct emergency and fire drills.
Implement Permit-to-Work procedures.
Monitor contractor safety.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain safety records and reports.
Conduct regular safety audits.
Ensure emergency exits are explicit and accessible.
Report major safety issues to management.
Follow up on corrective actions.
Promote a robust safety culture in the workplace.
